Red Velvet Cake Recipe :


Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk, at room temperature
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 16 ounces of cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate large mixing bowl, beat together the sugar and vegetable oil until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the buttermilk, food coloring, vinegar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the batter is well combined.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
